The Temple of Amaat is a significant building found within all Radchaai stations and districts. As well as being a centre of worship for Amaat and other gods of the Radch religion and the location of the morning cast, the temple has legal significance, as it records births and deaths, and all binding contracts, including clientage contracts, must be performed in the temple or (if one party is a member of the Valskaay religion) on its steps. Each temple is served by, at minimum, a priest, a water-bearer and a flower-bearer.
Three Temples of Amaat have played a role in events of the books: those in Ors, Omaugh Palace and Athoek Station.
